The Unconventional life

We got into our hotel room around 10:00 last night, of course the twins were sleeping so we had to do the whole get them in quickly and pray they go back to sleep thing. We unloaded our bags of clothes, toiletries and their beds prior to waking them up. We get them changed and settled into their pack n plays and they start popping up like whack a moles…this went on for a good 15-20 minutes before they laid down and went back to sleep. Autumn and Rayne were out within 10 minutes of hitting the pillow lol. I finally got more than 2 hours of sleep so feeling pretty good today. The babes woke us up around 6:00am since to them it is usually 7. We were able to appease them with some Baby Bum for all of 20 minutes before we have one that poops, well that was our time to get up call lol. After getting the rest of our tribe up and ready we went down to the free continental breakfast…which was a little disappointing, you had your pick of toast, muffin or cereal. We made our selections and sat down to eat or try to anyhow…they did not have any high chairs so we had to play the game of avoiding little slap happy hands while trying to spoon cereal into our mouth, not an easy feat lol. I also love seeing the looks on people’s faces when they see both the babes…then comes the ultimate question. “Are they twins?” 🤔 nope we had one already, decided we wanted a set so put an order in with the stork which we received overnight 😜 I never say that but sometimes I want to. It isn’t always easy especially with traveling… Always someone needing something but I wouldn’t trade my life for anything. I feel very blessed. Everyone is fed, changed and quiet for the moment which means this mama gets to take time and do what she enjoys… Take pictures and Blog! God Bless y’all! Hope you have an amazing day!

Currently traveling through Arizona and it is absolutely beautiful ❤️

35 Southbound

We on the road after stopping and filling our bellies with yummy food from Cracker Barrel! It was an assembly line of diaper changes and bed clothes but we dug in and got er done, now we are basking in some quiet time as 3 out of 4 of our blessings are sleeping 😂😜😉 we are currently listening to Thriller and enjoying the open road again.

To worry or not?

I know it has been a while since I have been on here, it sure has been a crazy month. So we celebrated both my birthday and our 2 year wedding anniversary on January 30th, yes that is exciting! what was not exciting was having our vehicle break down the day before and having to be towed back to our hotel but you know what, we did not freak out or get upset…we actually laughed about it because honestly what else can you do?…All’s well that ends well, our van was fixed in time for us to go enjoy a nice dinner out to celebrate. We thanked God for taking care of us.

So many times we tend to get upset, place blame and lose sight of both our accomplishments and each other during hard times, heck my first reaction was always to stress and worry about the littlest upset that came my way. I don’t know if it was the whole getting older part or finally realizing that worrying did not magically make a solution appear ( or maybe I’m just not a very good magician ) anyhow with that being said I am by no means perfect but I have gotten better about letting life stresses go and giving it to God. We go through the downs in life so we can pick ourselves back up, become stronger and hopefully become a source of light for the next person that stumbles in the quick sand.

We went through a down time last summer and instead of asking God why he is putting us through this, we asked him to guide us through the storm and thanked him for providing for us. You know what, we now have family members going through the same exact situation and we are able to relate, offer encouragement, and help them through it. God often puts us through these storms so we can help others through it. He has a plan for all of us and we just need to put our trust in him and try not to stress/worry about the challenges that we may face along the way.

All in a months time! Can you imagine all the driving, loading and unloading of the suitcases, toiletry bag, food and every other thing you have to accommodate your kids…toys, books, art supplies, pack and play for our 1 1/2 year old to sleep in, their blankets into different hotel rooms nightly, sometimes every other night or in rare cases weekly.

Another plus side is that we get our exercise in without even trying… with all the running in and out because something was forgotten in the van, constant cleaning out of the back seat area where the madness of food crumbs, shoes, crayons, food wrappers, water bottles, socks ( little wild child likes her feet free lol) happens, organizing boxes and last but not least walking to different stores/places to billpost. It is a constant craziness that we enjoy, what can I say it is our kind of normal.

Driving + bored = cool photos…I reckon 😋

Florida kinda weather here in New York today, rainy and foggy with a heat wave of 57 degrees! Yay! However, the bad news about all this rain is it will turn to ice by tonight/ tomorrow morning so will make for dangerous driving conditions…so stay safe!

On a side note, we had quite a bit of driving to do today so was able to snap a couple of cool pics with my handy dandy phone 😋😉 kinda eerie but cool nonetheless.

Time

We took some time this morning and watched the New Year’s Eve sermon from our church Calvary Chapel of Melbourne online www.calvaryccm.com and it was about Focus…it’s a new year and we should focus on the life we are leading for our kids, being a good role model for them and how our time is spent…you know the average person has 3 free hours a day and statistics say that only 15 minutes of those are spent with our kids! Wow…that is kind of depressing…how is that fully living and enjoying life?

After hearing that, we both realized how truly blessed we are…we get to travel with our kids and get to spend that quality time  and have different experiences as a family, however I am missing my son Justin quite a bit…he is in Florida and juggling dual enrollment while working, quite a load for a 16 year old but challenges are what he enjoys so I will continue to be his cheerleader and help him achieve his goals. He is amazing and I am super proud of him! I do wish he was with us on this journey though.
Focusing…

  • Live for today and not the past for that is gone
  • Be a person that you want your kids to be
  • Enjoy your time instead of letting it slip on by, cherish it
  • Forgive as it takes away time and joy from your life

I know easier said than done right…I accept the challenge, Do you?
